Some Key Differences
Like the 2022 and 2023 models, the New 2025 Commercial 2540 treadmill has a folding running deck design. The 2022 model was the introduction of a complete series redesign and set a new standard, reflected in 2023 and the latest 2024 model, but the running deck has returned to the 22-inch width, 2 inches more than the 2023 version and has an updated and wider touchscreen.
As a rule, we always lean towards recommending/using the latest technology and newer model. But the Commercial 2040 treadmill (2022 or 23 models) are still good, durable treadmill options to purchase — provided you can find one. That said, the latest New Commercial 2450 model is even better.
MODEL DIFFERENCES
There are three main changes to consider. As previously mentioned, the Running deck width has returned to 22 inches, now 2 inches wider than the 2023 model. The touchscreen display is also wider by 2 inches and has a much lighter feel; the top running speed has been increased to 14 MPH from 12 MPH courtesy of a stronger, more powerful motor, making this treadmill version more durable. (the motor now comes with a lifetime warranty - also better)
With the earlier 2022 Nordictrack Commercial 2450, you did have 3 degrees more incline at 15% now it is 12%. Both the 2023 and 2025 treadmills have the same size roller making it a tad more durable than most other brands. The 2025 is a little heavier but has a slightly smaller floor footprint in length than the 2023 model.
Another recent update to the 2025 - 2450 treadmill is that it now supports a heavier Max User Weight up to 400 lbs. 100 lbs. which is more than both the 2023 and 2022 models (was 300 lbs.), suggesting it’s a little sturdier.
The motor power is also greater on the latest treadmill at 4.25 CHP now with a lifetime warranty, the rotating screen is 2 inches wider at 24 inches, cooling fans, and all other features are identical between the models. See Full Feature Comparison Chart below.
If you wish to purchase the latest 2450 treadmill, the 2025 model it is available on the Nordictrack website or at Amazon, with immediate shipping.
The New 2025 Commercial 2450 is an excellent treadmill with a durable 4.25 CHP, self-cooling motor vs. 3.6 on the previous model and has a good list of features; it is a foldable treadmill saving floor space when not in use, and with its wide 24-inch HD touchscreen is very good for viewing on demand iFIT workouts both on and off the treadmill, and for streaming Netflix or your other favorite shows while moving.
Overall, Nordictrack's Commercial 2450 line of treadmills, whether 2019, 2023, or 2025 model, have all been bestsellers, with solid customer reviews and few issues. If you are a walker, hiker, or runner, the past and the current 2450 are exceptional treadmills, offering great value to hit your fitness goals. We prefer the wider running deck and wider touchscreen on the latest model. The lifetime warranty on the motor vs. 2 years is nice too.
Again, a notable difference with the 2025 model is the allowed max user weight has been increased to 400 lbs. - indicating a sturdier design.

Should I consider the 2023 version of the 2450 Tread
While we strongly recommend the newest model in our latest Commercial 2450 full review, a frequently asked recent reader question is, “Before buying, should I consider the older 2022 or 2023 model if still available on Nordictrack, Amazon or at elsewhere”.
Yes, if you can find one, this is a good model, especially if you care about a little more incline, (2022 model) and the price may offer savings. (Promotions depending).
OUR TAKE
We like this New 2450 treadmill because it takes the great design from the 2022 model such as the 2-inch wider running deck and makes it even better with a larger/faster display (24 inches) with a lighter design and feel plus a more powerful motor that now comes with a lifetime warranty (on previous models was only 2 years). Compared to the previous 2023 model we prefer the extra speed and stronger motor making this model a little more durable, especially if you’re planning on multiple people using this treadmill.
We recommend that while still in stock, you can consider ordering the prior year’s model if available. But in the end, the newer NordicTrack Commercial 2450 brings it with impressive treadmill features to move on compared with competitive models in the similar price range. We recommend this treadmill for serious runners, joggers, hikers and walkers.
